As the in-house illustrator for Ink Journal at the University of Plymouth, I created artwork around the themes of journey, adventure, perception, and change. I also illustrated for some of the written submissions. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with a team, explore new ideas, and bring the magazine's stories and poems to life through illustration.

It's not a matter of vintage or vine,
oak barrel or pine,
grape or the seed that it sprung.
It's all in the tender,
love-lorn surrender,
of strawberry, already
wrung.

Flower petals fall onto a table,
Slowly drifting, forgotten, sweetness in
A colour so bright, so beautiful.
Orange-coloured ice cream melts,
Sticky memories of a
Happy life, scraped knees,
Spirals on sticks, blisters from
Shoes too tight, too new.
Almond treats, apple slices, coins
In jars, a digital camera brought to
Wake up in the dark,
Small hands in which fits a smaller fish.
Chewing on a liquid, honeydew;
Sickly sweet, addicting,
Childish happiness that
Can’t be brought back.
Chalk in front of the block,
Leaves bringing colour to life,
Scratches on knuckles, red
Blood makes a heart.
One, two, three squares, cramping,
Cheeks hurting from smiling, sweat
Dripping down cheeks.
Foggy smiles on windows, snow
Up to the knees,
Hot pretzels after school, small
Houses made of wood.
Grew out of the swings, goodbye
My childhood home, forever will be
Sweet like honeydew.
